A new report from the Economic Policy Institute shows the kind of impact a national $15/hr minimum wage would have on our communities: 32 million workers would see a raise – more than a fifth of all U.S. workers.
This is a victory for workers, and it shows how things are changing because of the leaders our movement elected.
This week, the House passed $2,000 survival checks, more than TRIPLING the amount working people would receive as we struggle to put food on the table during this pandemic. But the Senate is blocking these crucial payments.
At a McDonald’s in Littlerock, CA there were no temperature checks at the start of shifts, no disinfection of shared drive-thru headsets and other high-touch surfaces, and workers unable to social distance standing elbow-to-elbow in a hot kitchen.
