#WalkoutWednesday: Vote for Black Lives

On Wednesday, the Fight for $15 continued the fight for racial and economic justice with a call to Vote for Black lives.

Movement leaders including SEIU President Mary Kay Henry and Rev. Dr. William J Barber II joined this week’s #WalkoutWednesday with workers and organizers – including former Fight for $15 worker leader turned Missouri State Representative Rasheen Aldridge. Jr – to discuss how this November, $15/hour, unions rights, police reform, and more are all on the ballot.

As Vernette Mahone, SEIU Healthcare’s Member Political Organizer said: “If we don’t vote this is the type of thing we get: people that don’t have our best interests at hand, that disrespect our lives, and hurt us in the process.”

That’s why we’re headed to the polls now and through November 3rd. We’ve marched for Black lives. We’ve fought for Black lives. And now, we will VOTE for Black lives.
