Workers gather at the Supreme Court to defend the freedom to #WorkTogether

Fast-food, child care, home care, and other workers from across the country descended on Washington, D.C. to take part in a gathering outside the Supreme Court.

Workers from all walks of life were there as oral arguments began inside on Friedrichs v. California Teachers Association — a case before the Court that aims to restrict the rights of people who serve the public to have a say in their wages and how to serve their communities.

Wealthy special interests have pushed a bad case all the way to the Supreme Court that would make it harder for us to come together to raise wages for our families and improve our communities. These big corporations and the wealthy few know that when people join together in unions, we make major gains for our families and our communities — like higher pay and investing in public education and in public safety for every family and community.

We will keep taking action in the streets, in our workplaces and at the ballot box to stand up for jobs that give everyone a fair shot at a secure future. We are building a movement to change America. Join us today >>
