This week we brought the fight to Washington.
Fight for $15 worker-leaders joined Members of Congress at the Progressive Strategy Summit to demand an end to sexual harassment and abuse in the workplace.
At She the People’s Women of Color Lead the Way Town Hall, Fight for $15 leaders like McDonald’s worker Jamelia Fairley shared their stories about sexual harassment, and demanded action from Members of Congress.

She was joined on stage by Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar, New Mexico Representative Deb Haaland, California Representative Barbara Lee, Massachusetts Representative Ayanna Pressley, and Washington Representative Pramila Jayapal. Jamelia made clear that now is time to demand change – the kind of change that the BE HEARD Act will help bring.
The powerful day continued later that afternoon when the work of the Fight for $15 movement was honored with the Congressional Progressive Caucus Center’s Game Changer Award.
