McDonald’s workers STRIKE in Florida!

Florida Workers On Stike

Dozens of McDonald’s employees went on strike Tuesday morning to protest unsafe working conditions after a young employee was violently assaulted by a customer. Workers gathered at the St. Petersburg, FL McDonald’s where Yasmine James was attacked on New Years Eve in an altercation which has since gone viral. Their message was loud and clear – we will keep showing up until ALL McDonald’s workers are safe from violence!

Far too often, McDonald’s workers face sexual harassment, physical attacks, and other violent behavior from customers — so we’re fighting back. Fight for $15 workers demand that McDonald’s and other fast-food chains provide training for employees and managers to handle violence in the workplace. It’s past time for the stores to establish security protocols, and provide protection and a voice on the job for its predominantly Black and Latinx women workforce. We will continue to speak out and organize for safe workplaces, fair pay, and our union to get the dignity and respect they deserve!
